A leading investment management firm is seeking a Vice President, Corporate Accounting to join its Finance team. The role requires an individual with deep technical accounting experience across several complex areas, including accounting for business combinations, non-controlling interests, equity incentives, equity method investments, and complex partnership or limited liability company structures. The Vice President will work cross-functionally within the Finance team and partner with internal business groups and affiliated investment platforms.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support senior management in evaluating strategic initiatives and assessing the accounting implications of potential transactions with existing or prospective investment platforms and partners
  • Advise management on potential accounting and regulatory developments that could impact the firm’s business model, financial reporting, or financial position
  • Determine appropriate accounting treatment for capital planning transactions, including certain derivative instruments
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to establish and document accounting policies, including:

o          Evaluating the appropriateness of complex accounting positions

o          Preparing documentation to ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and regulations

  • Interpret emerging accounting guidance and coordinate internally to ensure timely adoption and implementation once finalized by regulatory bodies
  • Assess potential impacts of proposed accounting or auditing standards and provide input on their implications
  • Monitor developments from accounting and regulatory standard-setting bodies
  • Participate in managing the relationship with external auditors to support an efficient audit process and effective communication

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field required
  • CPA strongly preferred
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including significant technical accounting exposure
  • Public accounting experience strongly preferred

COMPENSATION: $150-200K
