16A biotech company located in Waltham, is looking to hire a proactive and hard-working Senior Accounting Manager to join their fast-paced Finance team. In this position, you will be responsible for the management, oversight, and integrity of the General Ledger, the close process, and other operational accounting functions ensuring the accurate and effective processing and efficient execution.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for driving the monthly and quarterly close process.
  • Analyze and provide commentary on the balance sheet and income statement variances.
  • Assist with the preparation of monthly and ad-hoc reporting for senior management.
  • Prepare and review reconciliations as part of the close process.
  • Act as a key point of contact for external auditors and assist with the preparation of workpapers in advance of audits.
  • Review, recommend, and implement best practices regarding accounting policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with other finance team members to identify ways to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the day to day operations as well as the close process and assist with the implementation of such recommendations.
  • Oversight of AP process, including design, implementation, and maintenance of informative accounts payable reports and other GL reports to meet business needs.
  • Provide oversight, mentoring, and training to members of the finance organization.
  • Perform other related duties and ad hoc projects as required.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
  • CPA.
  • Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP.
  • Experience in the health and life sciences industry.
  • Technical accounting experience.
  • Excellent Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Experience with Net Suite and Concur preferred.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Proactive work ethic.
  • Ability and willingness to meet business critical deadlines.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and financial troubleshooting skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills, including ability to translate financial concepts to individuals at all levels, including finance and non-finance managers.

COMPENSATION:

  • $170k
