A software company, located in Concord, MA is looking to add an Assistant Controller to their team. This ideal candidate would be an experienced, knowledgeable, highly-motivated, and enthusiastic team player. The Assistant Controller will be the primary person responsible for managing the Company’s monthly end close process as well as the preparation of the global consolidated financial statements. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design, implement and participate in projects and activities which support the top and bottom line growth of the company through compliant improvement activities.
  • Provide leadership for finance team.
  • Create a positive image of the company through communication and interaction with key stakeholders including employees, customers, partners, and vendors.
  • Timely and accurate month end close responsibilities.
  • Detailed review of supporting schedules for assets and liabilities, detailed close calendar and responsibility matrix.
  • Prepare periodic reports for management and Audit Committee.
  • Interface with external auditors for quarterly reviews, annual financial statements, including preparation of required schedules and documentations.
  • Supervise accounts payable – one full time and one part-time employee.
  • Key contributor on system implementation and upgrade efforts.
  • Maintenance of accounting and reporting policies and practices, compliant with GAAP rules and regulations of the SEC.
  • Prepare analyses, schedules and reports on an as needed basis, for internal and external financial reporting.
  • Assist with preparation of annual Form 10-K, quarterly Form 10-Q, periodic Forms 3, 4, 5 and 8-K’s for SEC reporting.
  • Assist with quarterly reviews and annual financial statements audits, including preparation of required schedules and documentations.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent experience.
  • MBA or Masters in Accounting or Finance is preferred. CPA preferred.
  • 6 to 8 years accounting experience.
  • Exercise judgment within generally defined practices and policies in selecting methods and techniques to obtain solutions.
  • Ability to interpret and apply accounting literatures to Company business transactions is a necessary skill.
  • Experience with mid-tier and large accounting software packages preferred.
  • Revenue accounting & ASC 606 experience.
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft suite of software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent communication skills, ability to work independently and collaboratively, and strong organizational skills are essential.
